About
Tango Bistro prides itself on being a globally inspired “small plates bistro” concept. While not the first to offer small plates in Calgary, we aim to be the best in this broad category. From our stellar team to our progressive design and our award winning cuisine, we have what it takes to exceed your expectations and keep you coming back for more and more!
Breaking the boundaries of traditional dining, Tango Bistro’s service style is one where there is always a continuous flow of plates. Dishes are brought out when they are ready and at their best. We encourage sharing as you will get the most out of your experience this way. Small plates are designed to encourage conversation and interaction, as people are not focused on an entire meal that is set before them.
Renowned designer Barbara McGeough of Blue Design has taken the space formerly occupied by Smuggler’s Winelite room and transformed it into the stunning Tango Bistro. Familiar design details have been retained and brought up to date to create a space that is both comfortable and trend setting. A mix of booth seating, communal tables and a lounge style area make our dining room interesting on the eye and able to meet the needs of a wide range of seating requirements. Whether you are looking for an upbeat and lively group meal or a romantic dinner for two, Tango Bistro fits the bill. Reclaimed wood and existing fireplaces are nods to the original concept while bold new design features like our “bottle wall” provide a visual adventure throughout the space.

Smuggler's Group
For decades, Smuggler's Inn restaurant has been synonymous with Calgary. The Smuggler's ownership has seen a change in the great city of Calgary over these years and saw the need for a choice within our own building.
With the addition of Open Sesame in Oct. 2000, Bolero in May 2007 and now Tango Bistro, Calgarians have a choice of the best dining experience. Our guests know that the service, atmosphere and quality food that makes Smuggler's great, can be found in all of our restaurants.
We use only the very best ingredients and support local and regional producers whenever possible. Our staff are the best in the business and we pride ourselves that many of our employees have made this their career instead of just a job. Their passion for excellence is what has brought us to where we are today.
Come and join us at any of our outlets and enjoy the choice you have at the Smuggler's Group of Restaurants
